East Ranga River

East Ranga Scenery.jpg

The East Ranga offers anglers an amazing fishing experience. Its consistent flow ensures your fly swings perfectly over the numerous ledges, rocks, and channels that create ideal holding areas on every pool. A smooth volcanic sand riverbed makes wading extremely easy, allowing you to focus on your fishing rather than your footing. The many pools you will have can comfortably fished from the bank, offering options for all mobility levels. While the cool water temperatures throughout the summer lend themselves well to sink tip lines or sinking leaders and smaller copper/brass tube flies, don't rule out experimenting with attractor patterns like Sunray Shadows or Collie Dogs – as, the right conditions they can produce some truly exciting and memorable takes. With friendly and attentive guides eager to help you succeed you can relax and enjoy the pursuit of Atlantic salmon on this exceptional river. While daily catches naturally vary depending on conditions and individual skill, multipal hook ups are normal to each rod on a daily basis.

While daily catches are influenced by various factors, the East Ranga’s reputation for productive fishing speaks for itself.

Ian Gordon will be on hand around the lodge for casting and tackle advice

I have 3 rods available for 8 sessions of fishing on the 15th - 19th August 2025
